Converts Word .docx files to PDF, a self-contained HTML page, Markdown or plain text. The PDF keeps the document's own fonts, sizes, colours, alignment, indents, spacing, list numbering, table borders, page size and margins, because it is built from the document's own OOXML rather than from a stripped-down reading of it.

Good to know
Word's fonts cannot be shipped
Calibri, Word's default, is proprietary. It is drawn with Carlito, which is metric-compatible, meaning a line occupies the same width and the PDF breaks its lines where Word did. Other families map to the closest available match.
Chinese, Japanese and Korean are not covered in PDF
The bundled font covers Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Hebrew and Arabic. CJK text would need a 16 MB font for one feature, so it is detected, counted and named rather than drawn as blank boxes, with HTML offered instead.
The old .doc format is a different thing
Files from Word 2003 and earlier are a binary format no browser can read. Open one in Word or LibreOffice and save it as .docx first.
